Background
I have drawn and painted since childhood and attended Ulster College of Art and Design from 1965 to 1969 where I studied Painting and Textile Design. On moving to London I worked as a Textile Designer for Courtaulds and then at other studios before going freelance. During this period I was selected as one of the top 20 UK designers to exhibit at The Design Centre, London.
Painting Development
Since moving to Wiltshire in the 1980’s I have concentrated on painting, becoming known initially for my colourful and inventive silk paintings. However I now work more in acrylics and water colour, occasionally in oil or pastel and sometimes on print making. My work is a response to my life, interests, places visited and vivid visual memories. I paint what I am drawn to and moved by. Colour, light, line, form and texture are my underlying principles whether the paintings are figurative, which are often done on site, or more abstracted, which are generally produced in the studio. Fundamentally I strive for a unity and harmony in everything I paint, so hoping to pass on to others the joy and beauty that sparked in me the desire to create a work of art.

Numerous other venues in Wiltshire, Hampshire and Gloucestershire.
My work is now to be found in collections as far apart as Northern Ireland, Scotland, Australia and Hong Kong.
